About the Position

Operate as a Registered Nurse in Operative Care in Jackson, Tennessee, 38301. In this role you provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures, coordinating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other health‑care professionals to ensure safe and effective outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preoperative Preparation: assess patients’ medical histories, verify consent, review medications, and prepare patients physically and emotionally for surgery.
  • Intraoperative Nursing Care: assist in preparing the operating room, ensuring sterile conditions and functioning equipment; collaborate with the surgical team to position patients, monitor vital signs, and assist with anesthesia induction and maintenance.
  • Surgical Assistance and Instrumentation: anticipate surgeons’ needs, pass instruments, sutures, and supplies while maintaining sterile technique.
  • Patient Advocacy and Safety: advocate for patient safety and comfort, monitor responses, anticipate complications, and intervene promptly.
  • Postoperative Care and Monitoring: transfer patients to PACU or recovery rooms, monitor vital signs, assess incisions, apply dressings, manage drainage devices, and ensure pain management.
  • Documentation and Communication: maintain accurate documentation of intraoperative events, patient responses, and medications; communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
  • Continuing Education and Improvement: stay current with advancements, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and engage in surgical team debriefings.
