PositionLab Technician
Job OverviewThe principal function of this position is to provide accurate and timely analysis of all routine and non‑routine raw materials, in‑process, and finished product samples.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all routine and non‑routine analysis required by the site.
- Ensure compliance with Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements.
- Interact with site personnel to resolve issues with products, raw materials, and resale product Certificates of Analyses (COAs).
- Utilize computer software packages including MS Word, MS Excel, Lab Ware LIMS, and data collection software.
- Participate in the development and validation of analytical methods.
- Maintain and progress 5S, visual workplace, housekeeping, and lab improvement tasks.
- Troubleshoot and maintain laboratory instrumentation such as GCs, HPLCs, IC, TOC Analyzer, ICP, pH meters, FTIR, spectrophotometers, titrators, etc.
- Effectively communicate between shifts and supervision regarding technical questions.
- Recognize and suggest resolution to method problems.
- Recognize and properly communicate process upsets.
- Team member of the Emergency Response Team and carry out First Responder duties.
- Follow and adhere to all site and regulatory requirements including proper handling of laboratory waste.
- Complete required training for regulatory requirements and hazardous waste management within six (6) months of employment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related field. - Ability to interact and communicate with production personnel and supervision.
- Ability to provide accurate and timely analytical results while managing multiple priorities.
- High degree of initiative and active pursuit of new tasks and responsibilities.
- Strong Customer Focus, Empower & Be Accountable, Develop People.
- Willingness to work overtime and on off‑shift, including weekend call‑outs.
- Laboratory and office environment with frequent interruptions and urgent deadlines.
- Work overtime as required to meet key business objectives.
- Ability to work during off‑shift and weekend call‑outs.
Reports directly to the Laboratory Supervisor and interacts regularly with production employees, Operations Engineers, Operations Manager, hourly employees, Procurement, Logistics, HSE & Quality Manager, and Site Technical Engineers.
Compensation & Benefits- Competitive salary with a U.S. base annual salary range of $65,000 – $70,000 (actual compensation may vary).
