Reports To:

Store Manager.

Summary

The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager with overall operations and administrative duties, serves as a store ambassador, and assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager’s absence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to establish action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
  • Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across all departments as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability in all departments.
  • Direct staff to ensure departmental responsibilities and standards are completed.
  • Inform the Store Manager of inventory movements and customer trends.
  • Maintain quality customer service.
  • Perform general administrative duties as needed and stay trained in the Store Manager’s responsibilities.
  • Deliver extraordinary customer service as outlined in the Customer Service Manual.
  • Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
  • Practice and uphold all Hibbett I City Gear policies, procedures, and standards as listed in the operations policy manual, personnel policy manual, visual manual, customer service manual, and memos with company direction.
  • Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring internal control procedures' accuracy and reporting potential fraud risks.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, directing work, and resolving problems.
Qualifications
  • Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
  • 1-3 years of customer service experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
  • Self‑starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with precision.
  • Team‑player, passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
