Company Overview

Cloverkey is a trusted name in retail gift shops within hospital systems. As a family‑owned business, we are built on values of hard work, integrity, and exceptional customer service. We are looking for part‑time Sales Associates who embody these qualities and are ready to help take our gift shop operations to the next level.

Schedule
  • Monday – Friday from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
  • Must have open availability and ability to work evenings and weekends
Position Summary

The Sales Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, supporting store goals, maintaining a clean store, and handling cash transactions. They assist customers, follow company policies, and build positive relationships with hospital contacts and volunteers.

Responsibilities Customer Service
  • Provide exceptional customer service to every customer who enters the gift shop, including greeting upon entry, thanking for their purchase, and inviting them to return as they exit.
Store Performance
  • Meet store performance objectives with daily and monthly sales goals reviewed in the Daily Operations Binder and on the POS Register.
  • Follow corporate and store manager directions for supporting events.
  • Clock in and out according to scheduled work slot to ensure the store stays within its budgeted hours for the week.
Store Appearance
  • Ensure the store is clean and looks its best.
  • Dust shelves, remove trash from the floor, clean spots, organize and display items according to corporate standards, and keep the store generally clean and tidy.
  • Meet special cleanliness requirements related to infection prevention and the gift shop schedule and instructions.
Cash Management
  • Handle cash responsibly, count down the register drawer to ensure accuracy at the start of each shift.
  • During a shift change count the drawer in the presence of the outgoing and incoming employees or store manager.
  • Follow company policy for accepting credit cards, payroll deduction, hospital charge account, and other payment methods.
  • Notate any cash overages or shortages as per policy and notify the store manager immediately of unexplained differences greater than $10.
Personal Performance
  • Adhere to hospital and Cloverkey policies related to personal appearance, attendance, and customer service.
  • Performance is measured individually and as a team during the annual performance review, covering knowledge of store operations, schedule adherence, sales contribution, customer service, hospital policies understanding, supervisor instructions, attitude, and other performance measures.
Partner Relationship Management
  • Maintain a knowledge of hospital contacts and understand the importance of a good relationship with the hospital.
  • Show respect for and understanding of the role of volunteers in the hospital and in the gift shop.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in gift sales or a related field is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Stand for long periods.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Basic math skills for processing transactions.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell and cross‑sell products.
  • Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Work Environment
  • Primarily inside climate‑controlled buildings.

  • Self‑paced, requiring the ability to work quickly and accurately in an often‑times fast‑paced, demanding work area.
