Meat Lead Fresh Meat

Position Summary

As a Meat Department Lead you will drive sales in your area and supervise your team of hourly associates to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will model expertise in meat and work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.

• Act as a team leader: supervise the meat department team to deliver on the business plan and contribute to overall club success.
• Maintain expertise: keep an in‑depth knowledge of floor, back‑room operations, product updates and specifications, ensuring the department meets company and regulatory standards for quality, inventory, production, equipment usage, safety, sanitation and compliance.
• Use technology: leverage digital tools such as handheld devices for business decisions, production training, product quality and new tool adoption.
• Own the business results: ensure operational excellence, maintain a neat, clean and safe work area, forecast and plan production, facilitate inventory and ordering, ensure proper staffing, audit and compliance.
• Act as a talent ambassador: train and develop the team, identify training needs, provide coaching, encourage career growth and source new talent.
• Champion compliance: promote and support adherence to company policies, procedures, ethics and integrity, guide teammates and assist management with correcting compliance issues.
• Foster teamwork: build strong relationships, communicate with impact, embody Walmart values and motivate others.
• Serve members: put the customer first, make decisions based on reliable information, balance short‑ and long‑term priorities, focus on the overall purpose.

• At least 6 months experience in a meat production department or 6 months experience supervising a team.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Meat processing experience (boneless and bone‑in products).
• Food Handler Certification or Food Safety certification.

Hourly wage range: $22.00 to $30.00 per hour.

Additional compensation may include premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour, based on schedule, facility, season or specific work performed; multiple premiums may apply.
