Compact Equipment Outside Sales
We are looking to hire an outside salesperson to cover construction equipment sales in the Sumner County, TN territory.
Responsibilities- Daily territory management and revenue growth through on‑site visits to customers, in addition to contacting potential customers via telephone.
- Plan and organize business strategies to achieve desired results and exceed quota by renting and selling equipment.
- Promote the sale and rental equipment lines.
- Promote the value and capabilities of our Parts and Service operations.
- Complete sales orders, rental contracts, and all additional sales workflow paperwork and documentation to close transactions.
- Document daily calls to customers and develop weekly, monthly, and annual contact goals.
- Previous sales experience and knowledge of construction equipment preferred.
- BA/BS university degree in marketing, sales, business, or related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of sales experience within the equipment industry, or 5+ years in a related field.
- Understanding of local competition and market rates.
- Excellent communication and negotiating skills.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work additional hours in the evenings and weekends if needed.
- Ability to stay overnight in different cities from home base during weekdays.
- Multi‑tasker with project‑management skills to accomplish goals.
- Ability to work effectively with all company levels (Parts, Service, Sales, Rental).
The physical demands of this job include occasional sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and sometimes lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
