Role Overview
Outside Sales Representative responsible for achieving sales and profit objectives in assigned territory/industry. Works closely with the Sales Manager to establish sales targets and maximize revenue.
Responsibilities- Generate and develop new business to meet specified production goals.
- Maintain and nurture existing client relationships.
- Respond to all inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare and present sales proposals.
- Plan and manage sales territory.
- Understand and communicate information regarding company products, services, and policies and procedures to new and existing clients.
- Work closely with branch inside sales and management team for alignment.
- Possess and maintain thorough knowledge of industry product information.
- Continuously gather information on local competition and prevailing industry and business climate within the region; communicate information to management and others as needed.
- Negotiate contracts and work agreements.
- Ensure all required client paperwork is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
- Provide timely and accurate reports as required.
- Attend and participate in business/trade events that impact the business unit.
- Attend and participate in team strategic sales meetings.
- Perform additional duties as required and assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age. - 5+ years of outside sales experience in the same or similar industry preferred.
- Computer literate; proficient with MS Office 365.
- Experience with distribution-specific ERP systems, preferably Eclipse.
- Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal).
- Thrives in a collaborative team environment.
- Detail-oriented work style comfortable with multiple priorities being juggled while maintaining a consistent work approach.
- Physical requirements:
sitting, standing, walking, lift to 50 lbs., carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling, enduring frequent exposure to outside weather conditions. - Ability to pass a background check, MVR check, and drug test.
