Role SummaryAs Business Development Manager – Pole Barns Sales, you will lead the strategy and execution for Pole Barn sales across Shelter’s go‑to‑market channels. You will own the financial performance of the Pole Barn business, develop a digital roadmap, manufacturing requirements and product positioning, and collaborate with Sales, Commercial Operations, Marketing, IT and other functions to drive growth and profitability.
Responsibilities- 5+ years’ experience in building materials, construction products, post‑frame construction, pole barns, metal roofing or related industries.
- Experience in business development, project management, estimating, inside or outside sales, operations or vendor management.
- Establish, monitor and drive key business metrics, including financial performance, growth objectives, customer experience measures and operational KPIs.
- Develop training programs and educational resources in partnership with Sales Enablement and external vendors to increase product knowledge and adoption.
- Drive accountability for profitability and sustainable growth within the Pole Barn sales category.
- Strong understanding of building materials and construction‑related products.
- Experience working with vendors, suppliers and distribution networks preferred.
- Self‑starter with proven ability to work independently and prioritize competing responsibilities.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Ability to travel up to 40 %.
- 5+ years combined experience in customer‑facing roles, consulting, marketing, sales or analytics, ideally in the building materials industry.
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; a mix of experience and education will be considered.
US salary range for this full‑time position: $100,000 – $120,000 + bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, PTO, paid holidays, FSA, life insurance, LTD, STD, 401 k, EAP, discount programs, tuition reimbursement, training and professional development.
