About the Job
Provides technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company products. Assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions. May build a mini-application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client.
May provide software development and consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation. Ensures that the product application/solution is functioning according to specifications. May provide follow‑up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications. This role provides both pre‑ and post‑sales technical support. The incumbent typically spends 50 % of time providing pre‑sale technical support and 50 % of time providing post‑sale technical support.
The role is part of the sales incentive plan based on individual or team sales results. This is an individual‑contributor role.
- Execute and document technical engagements as defined by the customer’s Success Plan initiatives, advancing adoption and growth in consumption of Red Hat products
- Conduct reviews of the customer's environment and applications to ensure they are well‑architected following Red Hat product best practices
- Identify and aggregate technical adoption blockers discovered across multiple customers into common patterns and sales play resources
- Voice the customer's concerns, share insights and best practices, and connect with product leaders to remove technical barriers to adoption
- Stay curious and proactive, keeping abreast of Red Hat’s ecosystem and technology changes
- Ability to lead and deliver consultative customer‑facing engagements
- Experience with and practical knowledge of Dev Ops/Automation tools such as Ansible, CI tools, Git, Python (or similar)
- Proficient verbal and written English communication skills, able to convey complex information clearly and concisely
- Demonstrable presentation and facilitation skills
- Experience defining and gathering goals, requirements, and determining outcomes to plan work with customers for delivery on customer outcomes
- Willingness to travel within the region, visit customers and partners, attend conferences and other events
- Experience with scripting and coding, especially Python
- Expert level hands‑on experience with AAP
- High‑level familiarity with Chef, Puppet, Salt, and others in the space
- Infrastructure‑as‑a‑Service (IaaS) or Platform‑as‑a‑Service (PaaS) solutions
- Linux‑based workloads
- Continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) pipelines
- Network technologies like Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint
- Kubernetes and container‑based deployments
- Public cloud providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or IBM Cloud
- Windows‑based environment management
- Info Sec / Security Operations
- Willingness to travel within the region, visit customers and partners, attend conferences and other events
- Any Red Hat certification
- Ability to self‑study and quickly learn and put into practice new topics
