The Opportunity

The Electrical Systems Specialist may install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment in industrial settings, ensuring safe and efficient operation by following blueprints, codes, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Install electrical systems and equipment including wiring, conduit systems, and various electrical components.
  • Maintain and repair electrical systems through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and replacing faulty components.
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics to plan and execute electrical installations and repairs.
  • Follow national electrical codes and safety procedures, ensuring compliance and prioritizing safety in all work.
  • Work with high‑voltage systems, requiring specialized knowledge and training.
  • Install and program electrical equipment such as PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems, as needed.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems, identifying and diagnosing issues using various testing devices and tools.
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
  • Conduct quality assurance measures and inspections to ensure all installations and repairs meet quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace, keeping the work area organized and free of hazards.
  • Work individually or as part of a team, collaborating with other specialists and tradespeople.
  • Model and analyze electrical systems to identify potential problems or optimize performance, when required.
  • Maintain documentation of electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs, including blueprints, schematics, and other relevant records.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Climb stairs and ladders.
  • Standing, climbing, and kneeling are required for this role.
  • Will have to work in inclement weather from time to time.
  • Working from heights.
Job Qualifications
  • Must have worked in an industrial electrical work environment.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
  • Must have worked with medium‑voltage systems.
  • Must have a strong safety culture mindset.
  • High‑school diploma.
  • Deep understanding of electrical theory, electronics, and industrial safety codes (NFPA 70E).
  • Proficiency with troubleshooting tools, high‑voltage equipment, and PLC programming.
  • High school diploma or GED, with completed apprenticeships or several years of experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.
  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
