HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Title
Installs, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs heating and air conditioning equipment and control systems. Equipment sizes may vary depending on area of responsibility.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities
- Attends meetings, briefings, and training classes to increase knowledge and job performance.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair/replace HVAC equipment such as air handlers, DX systems, split systems, package systems, RTUs, VRF systems, condensing boilers, standard boilers, heat exchangers, hot water and/or chill water coils, valves, actuators, pumps and HVAC controls
- Assist contractors as needed with diagnostic and repairs of HVAC equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance on heating and cooling equipment.
- Service, troubleshoot, repair/replace centrifugal chill water and hot water pumps. Repairs and/or replaces other cooling or mechanical equipment and shop equipment.
- Responds to cold or hot calls; starts or stops chillers and boilers.
- Perform minor plumbing repairs such as repair/replace flush valves, spuds, stops, faucets, clear stopped up drains in toilets, urinals, and sinks
- Tracks time, man-hours, refrigerant usage; orders parts; coordinates with outside suppliers.
- Other duties assigned.
Associates degree in relevant area and four (4) years of appropriate experience. Must have an EPA Universal certification and valid driver's license. Relevant experience may substitute for education. Must be able to work after normal business hours to address emergency situations when necessary.
