Shipping Office Team Lead

Overview

The Shipping Office Lead will supervise all shipping office responsibilities, partner with DC operations for load and volume planning, create weekly load schedules for Jackson and other off-site facilities, and coordinate and resolve loading issues/delays with facilities and shipping carriers.

• Trains and supervises all shipping office functions, including closing out trucks, creating shipping paperwork, end of shift reporting, and yard audits
• Works with DC operations to ensure loading plan aligns with shipping plan
• Reviews loading accuracy of DC operations prior to closing out trailers
• Supports shipping coordinator in secondary functions of route planning, store support, and other transportation department functions
• Responsible for continuous improvement of shipping office processes
• Performs other duties as assigned

• 2 or more years shipping office or transportation experience preferred
• High School diploma or GED strongly preferred; combination of education and experience may be considered
• Proficient in basic computer skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
• RF scanning proficient
• Must operate in compliance with all company policies
• Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment
• Must be highly motivated and a self-starter and be able to work independently as well as with others in a cooperative team environment
• Must be able to problem solve
• Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time as needed
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
• Ability to lift and handle cases in a variety of sizes and weights
• Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse/distribution center setting
