Job SummaryThe Planner supports development and maintenance of outbound shipping schedule, wave planning, expediting high-priority orders, and coordinating communication with customer service teams outside the distribution center. This hands‑on, fast‑paced position works closely with the master planner and reports to the Transportation Planning Manager.
- Support planning team and assist communication between transportation, operations, and customer service.
- Prepare outbound truckload shipping schedule for the following work day.
- Monitor on‑time pickup performance of carriers and report issues to management.
- Work with DC Operations team to ensure orders processed on time to meet the shipping schedule.
- Assist in gathering labor requirement estimates for shipping schedule.
- Coordinate with customer service, operations, and transportation providers to expedite high‑priority orders.
- Participate in process improvement activities as directed.
- Develop working knowledge of Transportation Management System and Distribution Management System (DM Plus).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business, Engineering, or 2–3 years of progressive distribution planning related experience.
- Minimum of 2 years progressive experience in planning and scheduling (distribution experience preferred, manufacturing acceptable).
- Six Sigma experience a plus.
- APICS certification a plus.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong software skills.
