Program Instructor
A program instructor within our organization would be responsible for teaching assigned weekly classes, supervising participants, and following an agreed upon curriculum that meets pre-set goals for assigned classes. Instructors should maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere between all students, parents, and staff members. The pay for the role is negotiable, and the position is part-time. A program instructor reports to the Youth or Adult/Senior Recreation Supervisor.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Preparing class curriculum and participant goals prior to start date of program
- Adjusting and preparing a weekly lesson plan
- Taking attendance of participants
- Teaching a variety of youth participants at weekly classes
- Plans and coordinates with Recreation Supervisor for supplies, recitals, games, etc. depending on the nature of the program being taught
- Attend any meetings as required by Recreation Supervisors or Parks and Recreation Director
- Other relevant duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience
Required:
- Background in subject matter being taught
- Teaching experience is preferred
- First Aid/CPR certification is preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Friendly and welcoming personality
- Ability to manage a classroom of students
- Ability to adapt to all ages, levels, and abilities
- Knowledge of program topic/skill
- Great work ethic including integrity, self-motivation, and passion for working with others
- Organizational and time-management skills
