Evans Construction is seeking an experienced Estimator/Project Manager to join our team! This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead, as well as managing projects from award through completion.
Responsibilities- Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and related documents to develop detailed cost estimates.
- Prepare both preliminary and final estimates based on project plans and specifications.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to clarify project requirements and resolve issues.
- Maintain up-to-date pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Develop bid packages and evaluate subcontractor proposals for projects of varying size and complexity.
- Conduct site visits to measure, assess conditions, and prepare estimates for commercial projects.
- Participate in the bidding and proposal process.
- Manage awarded projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, cost tracking, and billing.
- Review daily cost reports for accuracy and address budget variances with management.
- Coordinate with field teams prior to project startup to ensure readiness and compliance with plans and specifications.
- Provide feedback to the estimating team regarding actual project performance versus estimates.
- Assist with field measurements and evaluation of material sourcing as needed.
- Verify job quantities reported by field staff for accuracy and billing purposes.
- Monitor material and fuel supplies to ensure project needs are met.
- Review operational reports, including plant and production data.

Education & Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of construction estimating experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with estimating software (e.g., B2W), spreadsheets, and takeoff tools.
- Familiarity with CADD files and construction documentation.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
- Proven skills in leadership, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
