The Carpenterisresponsibleforindependentlyperformingavarietyofcarpentryandgeneralbuildingconstructiontasksatvariousresidential,commercial,and/orindustrialjobsitelocations.
Thispositionreportstothe Project Foremanor Project Superintendent .
- Performsbasiclayoutworkfornewconstructionsitesand/orremodels.
- Constructsandpositionsconcreteformsforfootingsandfoundationsusingpowerandhandtools.
Occasionallymayhelppourconcrete.
Disassemblesformswhenconcreteisset. - Installsandsetsfloorjoists,framesfloor,andlaysdownsheetsofplywoodtobuildthesub-floor.
- Buildsexterior/interiorwalls,standswallsup,andbraces/securesthemintoplace.
- Installsprotectivesheetingaroundexteriorwallstosealoutweatherfromthewalls.
- Framesopeningsforwindowsanddoors.
- Hangsexterior/interiordoorsandexteriorwindows.
- Installsrooftrusses,sheetsofplywood,andlaysroofsheeting.
- Performsfinishingwork,includinginstallinginsidetrimpieces,sanding,staining,and/or painting.
- Loadsandunloadsmaterialsandsuppliesfromtrucks/trailersatjobsites.
- Packsmaterialstospecificareasattheconstructionsiteasneeded.
- Performshousekeepingandkeepsworkareacleanthroughouttheprojectandremovestrashanddebris.
Will shovel,sweep,andpickupmaterialsbyhand - Performsdemolitiondutiesofexistingstructuresasneeded.
- Previousconstructionexperiencerequired
- Understandingoffinishingwork
- Basicabilitytoreadandunderstandblueprints
- Knowledgeofoperatingfinishtrimtools
- Abilitytoframewalls
- Abilitytomanageacrewof2–3workers,dependingonprojectrequirements
- Valid driver’slicenseand/orreliabletransportationtojobsites
- Mustprovidebasichandtools;specialtytoolsandequipmentareprovidedbytheemployer
- Abilitytounderstandandfollowverbalandwritteninstructionsin English
