SENIOR DESIGNER/ PROJECT ARCHITECT 4 to 10+ years of experience

Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000+ Utilization Target: 80-85%

We are looking for bold thinkers who turn ideas into inspiring, community spaces.

The primary role of the SD/PA is to create and oversee the “meat” of the documents needed to execute a design. They coordinate and pull together the documents per the schedule laid out by the PM. They are typically the main point of contact for the consultants. There are three tiers within this role that is determined by experience and skill:

  • PA/SD I
    Assist and learn tasks below
  • PA/SD II
    Lead with light assistance on tasks below
  • PA/SD III
    Lead and master tasks below
  • Job functions include but are not limited to:
    • Lead the technical design aspects of larger and more complex projects.
      • Construction details and systems
      • Wall Sections
      • Thermal and waterproofing systems
      • Wall, floor, roof build ups
    • Production work throughout all project phases.
      • Manage submittal documents
      • Set up cartoon sets and templates
      • Delegate and check production work
      • Production work as needed
      • Gather and review specifications
      • QAQC checklists at milestones
    • Act as an expert resource in project design, reviewing 3D work, hand drawings, and modeling produced through all project phases to ensure design integrity.
    • Analyze and summarize project code and zoning, using expert familiarity with building codes.
    • Maintain project schedule and project construction budget.
      • Monitor hours and tasks related to project fee and project schedule
    • Client, agency, and consultant meetings as required.
      • Create agendas
    • Coordination and production of bid and construction administration documentation.
      • Site visits/ OAC
      • Review and respond to submittals
    • Research and respond to bid and construction administration general inquiries, substitution, and design change requests.
    • Assist senior staff with project management responsibilities (e.g. tracking project budgets).
    • Coordinate with consultants and assist senior staff in client and agency coordination.
    • Mentor junior staff on technical aspects of the profession.
    • Implement GYDE’s design ethos and project parti into all aspects of the work above
