JOB OVERVIEWThe Human Resources Generalist is a hands‑on member of the Human Resources team based in Charleston, SC. This role supports day‑to‑day HR operations for designated Crystal Creek Hospitality hotels and helps create a welcoming, accurate, and consistent employee experience.
Primary responsibilities include recruiting coordination, onboarding, electronic paperwork compliance, HRIS data entry, employee file maintenance, uniform administration, training and certification tracking, employee engagement support, and offboarding. The Generalist works within established policies and procedures, provides prompt service to employees and leaders, and escalates complex or sensitive matters to Human Resources leadership.
This position is well suited for an organized, service‑minded professional who is beginning or building a career in Human Resources and enjoys working in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Recruiting & Onboarding- Supports recruiting activities by posting approved openings, reviewing applications for minimum qualifications, coordinating interviews, and communicating with candidates and hiring managers.
- Prepares approved offer letters and new‑hire communications; coordinates background checks, pre‑employment screenings, references, and other pre‑hire steps in accordance with company procedures.
- Coordinates and helps conduct new‑hire orientation, including first‑day schedules, policy review, benefit information, required training, and introductions to the hotel team.
- Maintains onboarding checklists and follows up with new hires and managers to ensure required steps are completed accurately and on time.
- Supports 30-, 60-, and 90‑day new‑hire follow‑up activities and communicates unresolved onboarding needs to Human Resources leadership.
- Administers electronic onboarding workflows and monitors completion of required forms, including tax documents, direct‑deposit information, emergency contacts, policy acknowledgments, benefit forms, and other company records.
- Coordinates completion, verification, and retention of Form I-9 and E-Verify requirements, where applicable, under established company procedures; tracks reverifications and document expiration dates.
- Audits electronic employee files for missing signatures, incomplete fields, expired documents, duplicate records, and other discrepancies; follows up promptly to correct deficiencies.
- Enters and maintains accurate employee data in the HRIS and related systems, including hires, job and pay changes, transfers, status changes, and separations, as authorized.
- Runs routine reports and maintains trackers for onboarding status, missing paperwork, training completion, certifications, work authorization, and other recurring compliance items.
- Maintains secure electronic and paper records in accordance with company record‑retention practices and confidentiality expectations.
- Serves as the day‑to‑day point of contact for the employee uniform program across assigned properties.
- Collects employee sizing information; coordinates uniform ordering, receipt, labeling, distribution, exchanges, alterations, replacements, and returns.
- Maintains accurate uniform inventory and issuance records by property, department, position, and employee.
- Monitors inventory levels and upcoming hiring needs, communicates replenishment requirements, and coordinates orders with approved vendors and hotel leaders.
- Reconciles deliveries against packing slips and invoices, reports shortages or quality concerns, and follows through on vendor corrections.
- Coordinates the return of uniforms during transfers and separations and updates records to reflect returned, damaged, or outstanding items in accordance with company policy.
- Provides friendly, timely first‑line support for routine employee questions about onboarding, policies, benefits enrollment, HR systems, training, and available resources; routes payroll, leave, employee relations, and other complex matters to the appropriate partner.
