Position Overview

In aircraft manufacturing, the finish isn't just cosmetic-it's vital corrosion protection and aerodynamic perfection. We are looking for an Aviation Surface Prep & Paint Specialist to lead our finish booth operations.

You'll work in a well-equipped finishing facility with the creative freedom and operational trust to manage your booth, perfect chemical applications, and ensure every plane or structural sub-assembly leaves looking showroom-ready.

What You'll Do
  • Aerospace Surface Preparation:
Perform multi-stage chemical cleaning, etching, alodining, grit blasting, and masking on complex aircraft structures.
  • Precision Coating Application:
Apply specialized aviation primers (epoxy/chromate) and polyurethane topcoats to exact mil-thickness standards.
  • Equipment & Booth Management:
Maintain spray guns, pressure pots, air filtration systems, and environmental booth controls for optimal finishing conditions.
  • Defect Inspection:
Conduct rigorous inspections for runs, orange peel, dust contamination, or thickness variances to guarantee flawless aerodynamic surfaces.
  • Safety & Compliance:
Maintain safe chemical handling, storage, and waste management practices in accordance with aerospace safety guidelines.
What You Bring
  • 3+ years of industrial spray painting experience (aviation, automotive refinishing, or defense manufacturing preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of polyurethane paints, epoxy primers, chemical pre-treatments, and wet-mil gauges.
  • Eye for detail and pride in aesthetic and structural perfection.
  • Ability to manage paint schedules independently and maintain clean, organized booth systems.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
