The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for generating catering revenue by selling and coordinating social events, corporate functions, meetings, and weddings. This role manages the sales process from initial inquiry through event execution, ensuring exceptional client service and seamless coordination with the operations team.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized, relationship-driven sales professional with a passion for hospitality and event planning.
Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development- Generate new catering business through prospecting, networking, and referrals
- Respond to inquiries and convert leads into booked events
- Conduct site tours and client meetings to showcase event spaces and services
- Prepare proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders (BEOs)
- Achieve monthly and annual catering revenue targets
- Serve as the primary contact for clients throughout the event planning process
- Maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, and event organizers
- Manage event details including menus, room setups, timelines, and special requests
- Ensure a high level of service and client satisfaction
- Collaborate with culinary, banquet operations, and event teams to ensure seamless execution
- Conduct pre-event meetings and communicate event requirements clearly to operations teams
- Attend events when necessary to ensure service excellence and client satisfaction
- Maintain accurate records within the sales CRM system
- Track revenue production and sales activity
- Assist with forecasting and sales reporting
- Participate in sales meetings and marketing initiatives
- 2–5+ years of catering sales or hospitality sales experience
- Proven success in selling social events, corporate meetings, or weddings
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends when events require
- Experience in hotel, resort, or upscale venue environments
- Knowledge of banquet operations and event planning
- Experience with sales and event management systems (Delphi, Salesforce, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred
- Commission or incentive plan based on revenue performance
