Coaster Technician

Coaster Technician Snow King Mountain Resort – Jackson, WYSnow King Mountain Resort is seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Coaster Technician to support the operation and maintenance of our Wiegand Alpine Coaster.

This position plays a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of one of the resort’s most popular attractions.

Position Overview The Coaster Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing all components of the alpine coaster system, including track infrastructure and sleds. This position works closely with operations staff to minimize downtime and ensure safe, smooth daily  addition to coaster responsibilities, this role may assist other mountain departments with maintenance projects as needed, contributing to the overall success of resort operations.

Primary Responsibilities Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of coaster track and alignment

Diagnose and repair sled mechanical and electrical systems

Conduct troubleshooting of operational faults

Maintain accurate service records for sleds and track systems

Stage and deploy a sufficient number of sleds for daily operations

Remain stationed at the coaster shop during operating hours to respond quickly to operational needs

Assist with preventative maintenance and off-season projects

Support other mountain maintenance initiatives when operational needs require

Required Skills Strong mechanical aptitude

Basic electrical troubleshooting ability

Comfortable using hand and power tools (drill, impact, grinder, Sawzall, etc.)Ability to work independently and make sound decisions

Commitment to safety and attention to detail

Experience

Basic experience with hand and power tools required

No prior coaster experience necessary

Background in automotive, industrial, lift, or equipment maintenance preferred

Work Environment Outdoor mountain environment

Physically active role (lifting, climbing, bending)
May require weekend and peak-season availability
