Town of Jackson, Public Works Department, Fleet Division, is now accepting applications for the full time, fully-benefitted position of Journey Mechanic or Senior Journey Mechanic. Hiring Range $71,500 - $92,000 DOQ. Join our highly capable fleet maintenance team supporting the health, safety, and welfare of the Jackson Hole community.
The primary duties of the position involve technical maintenance repair work and preventative servicing of heavy duty diesel driven street maintenance and excavating equipment and transit fleet, automotive, various light, and medium duty vehicles including but not limited to minor adjustments, transmission work, brakes, and electrical and hydraulic systems including transit buses, MCI coaches, police and sheriff’s patrol vehicles, heavy duty plow and grading equipment, etc.

Additional duties and responsibilities associated with the Senior Journey position include installation of law enforcement specific adaptations to patrol vehicles, special tool fabrication for light and heavy-duty vehicle adaptations, and more complex service issues and major overhauls.
Must possess own hand tools and locking toolbox. Brand new, state of the art, sparkling clean fleet maintenance facility with 6+ work bays, multiple hydraulic lifts, gantry crane that runs the length of the repair bays, tire carousel, and secured parts/inventory management space.
- High School graduation or equivalent
- Wyoming Class B CDL with "P" endorsement or ability to obtain
- 5-8 years experience as a mechanic performing auto/equipment repairs on gas and/or diesel vehicles and equipment
This position has full benefits offered by the Town of Jackson currently including health, vision and dental insurance, Wyoming Retirement System (WRS) retirement benefits and Paid Time Off (PTO), which covers vacation, sick and holidays. Up to $1,000 match towards Wyoming Deferred Compensation provided.
The Town provides a $7,500 signing/stay bonus.
