Summary:

Work alongside the Pastor of Education to disciple students 1st-4th grade (“Kidville”) and their families.

Responsibilities & Objectives
  • Oversee Sunday School for 1st-4th grade students.
    • Coordinate current Sunday school teachers.
    • Contact person on rotation that week for check-in and encouragement.
    • Keep teacher rotation and schedule up to date.
    • Communicate expectations and follow up on needs or concerns.
  • Training/Equipping new and current Sunday School teachers
    • Be sure that all teachers are appropriately using their curriculum and time.
    • Onboarding teachers to rotate in or multiply classes.
    • Develop a contingency plan for above average attendance.
  • Collaborate with the Pastor of Education on choosing Biblical and Relevant curriculum.
    • Know the spiritual place and needs of our kids for relevant curriculum.
    • Stay up to date on the best and current curriculums.
  • Oversee Wednesday Night Midweek for 1st-4th grade students.
    • Plan an engaging, Bible centered, weekly service for kids.
    • Collaborate with the Pastor of Education on curriculum or biblical teaching.
    • Coordinate volunteers (Group leaders, floaters, music, tech, etc).
    • Collaborate with “The Bridge” (5th-6th grade) on potential crossover times/activities.
  • Coordinate Kid’s Church on Sunday Mornings.
    • Contact people on rotation that week for check-in and encouragement.
    • Keep leader rotation and schedule up to date.
    • Collaborate with the Pastor of Education on curriculum.
  • Collaborate with Pastor of Education and Pre-school Coordinator to direct events related to Children’s Ministry (“Park & Kidville”).
    • Coordinate seasonal/quarterly kids events with the Park Coordinator and the Pastor of Education, e.g., Back-to-School Bash, Easter Egg Hunt, Cookies with the Pastor, etc.
    • Lead and facilitate camps and retreats for students 3rd-6th grade, e.g., Centrikid, Siloam Spring Retreat, etc.
    • Collaborate with Summer Interns and youth volunteers on engaging Summer activities for kids 1st-6th grade, e.g., Mission Mondays, Terrific Tuesdays, etc.
  • Engage parents and guardians through family discipleship opportunities.
    • Work with the Pastor of Education to create a Scope and Sequence for kids ministry
    • 5 Year plan/roadmap of discipleship and biblical literacy.
  • Work with the Pastor of Education to develop a system for regular Family Engagement, for example:
    • Weekly Group Me, text messages, videos.
    • Creating “evergreen” content for parent training.
    • Finding or creating resources for parents to use daily/weekly.
