Product Design Engineer – Mechanical Product Development

Location: Jacksonville, AR
Workplace: 100% On-Site
Compensation: $105,000–$120,000 + Bonus
Employment Type: Full-Time

Take Your Designs From Concept to Production

Are you a mechanical design engineer who wants to do more than make CAD changes or support someone else's designs?

We're seeking a Product Design Engineer who enjoys owning products from the initial idea through design, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, and continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to take real ownership of mechanical products, work closely with the people who manufacture them, and see your designs move from Solid Works to the production floor and ultimately into the field
.

This role is ideal for an engineer with strong experience designing sheet metal and/or injection-molded plastic components who understands that a great design needs to work not only on the screen, but also in manufacturing.

You'll join a stable, growing organization and work alongside an experienced Product Engineer with more than 15 years with the company.

What You'll Do
  • Own mechanical product designs from concept through production launch and ongoing improvement
    .

  • Develop detailed 3D models and assemblies in Solid Works
    .

  • Create production-ready engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and release documentation.

  • Design components involving sheet metal, formed metal, plastics, and injection-molded parts
    .

  • Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles throughout the development process.

  • Build and evaluate prototypes and make design improvements based on testing, performance data, and manufacturing feedback.

  • Perform engineering calculations and analysis including basic FEA, stress analysis, tolerance stack-ups, and thermal assessments
    .

  • Work directly with manufacturing and industrial engineering teams to resolve production challenges and improve manufacturability.

  • Collaborate with suppliers on materials, tooling, component design, and production capabilities.

  • Support testing, validation, field evaluation, and product troubleshooting.

  • Improve existing products to reduce cost, simplify manufacturing, shorten lead times, and improve quality.

  • Participate in the development and integration of mechanical products involving air movement, ventilation, fans, HVAC-related components, or similar systems
    .

  • Use Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous-improvement principles to improve products and processes.

What We're Looking For

We're especially interested in engineers who can point to products they've personally helped take from an idea to a manufactured reality
.

Strong candidates will bring:

  • Mechanical engineering or product design experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Solid Works
    .

  • Proven experience developing mechanical products from concept through prototyping, validation, release, and production
    .

  • Demonstrated design experience with sheet metal and/or injection-molded plastic components
    .

  • Understanding of DFM and DFA principles
    .

  • Experience creating detailed engineering drawings and Bills of Materials.

  • Experience supporting prototypes, testing, and design validation.

  • Ability to work directly with manufacturing teams to solve real-world production and design problems.

  • Strong mechanical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Experience That Will Help You Stand Out
  • Experience designing both sheet metal and injection-molded plastic products
    .

  • GD&T and tolerance analysis.

  • FEA or structural/stress analysis.

  • Plastic part design and injection-molding tooling considerations.

  • Sheet metal forming, stamping, fabrication, or tooling experience.

  • Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing partners.

  • Fans, blowers, ventilation equipment, HVAC products, air-moving equipment, or similar mechanical systems.

  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.

  • Experience improving existing products after launch for cost, quality, reliability, or manufacturability.

Why This Opportunity Is Different

This isn't a role where you'll spend your entire day making minor revisions to someone else's CAD models.

You’ll have the opportunity to own products, solve engineering problems,…
