Responsibilities
  • Receives, pays out cash, and handles negotiable items, loan payments, deposits, withdrawals and transfers (daily, about 15% of the time).
  • Sets up, closes and balances teller station (daily, about 10% of the time).
  • Records sales of monetary instruments (daily, about 5% of the time).
  • Assists customers with inquiries in person or by telephone (daily, about 10% of the time).
  • Maintains a neat and well‑stocked teller area (weekly, about 5% of the time).
  • Cross‑sells bank products and services (as needed, about 5% of the time).
  • Follows limits established for protection of customer accounts and bank safety/soundness (daily, about 5% of the time).
  • Adheres to bank policies and procedures (daily, about 5% of the time).
  • Lifts coin bags up to 50 lbs (as needed, about 5% of the time).
  • Assists with balancing Vault, ATM, Night Drop, and Coin Machine (as needed, about 5% of the time).
  • Assists with proper scanning of bank documents and proof work (as needed, about 5% of the time).
  • Exercises judgment when applying holds and making check‑cashing decisions (daily, about 10% of the time).
  • Cross‑trains to be available to open basic new consumer accounts (as needed, about 5% of the time).
  • Adheres to a flexible work schedule (daily, about 5% of the time).
  • Maintains a positive, friendly and professional attitude and appearance (daily, about 5% of the time).
  • Might be required to work an alternative location within the region or market (as needed).
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner (daily).
  • Completes required BSA/AML and other compliance training (quarterly).
  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Equivalent to four years of high school or GED, preferably with emphasis during high school on office or shop skills.
  • Experience:

    0 to 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Communication skills:
    Effectively communicates information and responds to questions in person‑to‑person and small group situations with customers and employees.
  • Mathematical skills:
    Adds, subtracts, multiplies and divides numbers; applies these skills using money and other measurement units.
  • Critical thinking:
    Uses common sense to carry out simple multi‑step instructions and manages standardized situations with limited variables.
  • Software skills:
    Basic 10‑key operation, spreadsheets and word processing/typing.
  • Physical requirements:

    Lifts up to 50 lbs, performs semi‑repetitive, low physical activities.
  • Work environment:
    Moderate noise; occasional standing, walking, pushing, carrying, or lifting.
  • No required certificates, licenses or registrations.
