This role is crucial for supporting Manufacturing or Production Operations by providing essential financial analysis, cost tracking, and reporting. What You’ll Actually Do
  • Cost Analysis:
    Analyze comprehensive production costs, encompassing labor, materials, and overhead expenditures, to provide clear financial insights and support operational understanding.
  • Variance Tracking:
    Track and report all manufacturing variances, including price, usage, volume, and efficiency, to identify deviations from planned performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Budget & Forecast Support:
    Support the development of annual operating budgets and rolling forecasts specifically for production departments, ensuring financial targets are aligned and accurately tracked.
  • Reporting & Dashboards:
    Prepare recurring financial reports and create dashboards for production leadership, presenting key financial metrics and performance indicators to aid decision-making.
  • Operational Partnership:
    Partner directly with Operations, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to thoroughly understand the underlying cost drivers and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for continuous cost improvement.
The Must-Haves
  • Background:
    Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field. This is an entry-level position designed to support manufacturing or production operations with foundational financial analysis.
  • Experience:

    Possess 0-2 years of relevant professional experience. While not required, prior exposure to a manufacturing, production, or operations environment is preferred, as is internship or co-op experience in a financial capacity. Experience with standard costing or inventory accounting is also a preferred qualification.
  • Skills:

    Demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative abilities, with the capacity to work through complex issues and gather information for data analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and basic modeling, is essential. Candidates must exhibit strong attention to detail and data accuracy, alongside the ability to clearly communicate complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders and collaborate effectively across teams, managing multiple tasks and deadlines while delivering accurate and timely work.
  • Bonus:
    Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Costpoint is a plus, providing an advantage in navigating financial data within organizational systems.
