Arkansas Talent Group is searching for an experienced, hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for its client, a growing multi-location company in the construction equipment sales and rental industry
.Based in Jacksonville, Arkansas
, this executive will join the senior leadership team and serve as a strategic business partner to the President/CEO while leading the company's finance and accounting functions. The organization currently generates approximately $15–$20 million in annual revenue and operates locations across Arkansas and several surrounding states.
This is not a purely accounting-focused CFO position
. The company is seeking a financially sophisticated business leader who can understand the operation, identify opportunities to improve profitability and cash flow, evaluate investments, strengthen financial reporting, and help leadership make better business decisions.
The right person will be equally comfortable digging into the numbers and sitting at the executive table
. They should think like an owner, manage cash like a banker, and evaluate capital like an investor.
What You'll DoFinancial Strategy & Business Performance
- Lead the company's financial strategy, planning, forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial decision-making.
- Partner closely with the President/CEO and senior leadership team to evaluate business performance, identify opportunities, challenge assumptions, and support strategic decisions.
- Develop stronger financial visibility into the business and translate financial information into clear, actionable recommendations for operational leaders
. - Identify and implement opportunities to improve profitability, margins, cash flow, working capital, and return on invested capital
. - Develop meaningful KPIs, dashboards, and management reporting that allow leadership to better understand performance and make informed decisions.
- Increase visibility into branch, product, and equipment profitability and help leadership understand where the company is—and is not—generating appropriate returns.
- Develop a disciplined framework for evaluating capital allocation, investments, equipment purchases, and other growth opportunities.
- Lead cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and liquidity planning.
- Oversee banking relationships, financing, lender communications, and debt compliance.
- Evaluate capital investments and equipment fleet performance with a focus on ROI, utilization, profitability, and long-term value creation
. - Help leadership balance growth opportunities with appropriate cash management and financial discipline.
- Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, audits, and tax coordination.
- Lead and develop a small accounting team
, establishing clear expectations while providing mentorship, accountability, and support. - Improve the quality, accuracy, usefulness, and timeliness of financial reporting
. - Evaluate existing processes and controls and implement improvements where appropriate.
- Lead financial systems, reporting automation, and ERP optimization initiatives.
- The company currently utilizes Acumatica
, so prior experience with Acumatica or a similar ERP platform is strongly preferred.
.This position will require some travel, particularly during the first year
, as the CFO visits company locations, develops relationships with branch leadership, and gains a firsthand understanding of how each operation functions.
The goal is not simply to analyze locations from the corporate office. The CFO should understand the business at the operational level and use that knowledge to help improve financial performance throughout the organization.
