Alta Performance Materials US, LLC invites you to join a leading company in the composites industry. We specialize in high‑performance grades of unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins, gelcoats, and low‑profile additives used worldwide.
OverviewThe Chemical Operator loads and packages polyester resin, transfers finished product into tank wagons, and prepares products for shipping while maintaining a strong safety culture.
Essential Functions- Load tank wagons with polyester resin according to established procedures.
- Load drums with polyester resin following established procedures.
- Make blends in blend and/or thin tanks to proper specifications, transferring resins to and from base resin storage tanks.
- Safely handle numerous liquid and solid raw materials used in the blending process.
- Transfer base resins from cooling tanks to thin tanks and charge thin tank monomer.
- Properly handle and store hazardous waste materials, and respond to spills per emergency procedures.
- Dispose of all hazardous and contaminated refuse.
- Maintain housekeeping and cleaning to ensure a safe working environment.
- Aid A & B Operators under the Manufacturing Supervisor’s direction.
- Conduct introductory and annual training in RCRA, HAZCOM, forklift operation, yard dog operation, SPCCC, incipient firefighting, TSCA, and DOT shipping papers.
- Follow all procedures and maintain logs and paperwork for job responsibilities.
- Embrace the culture of prevention and follow all safety rules and procedures.
- High school diploma.
- Ability to operate fork trucks, park bulk tank wagons, and 53‑foot long box trailers; training provided.
- Willingness to work rotating 12‑hour shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Proficiency in word processing, Excel, and personal computers.
- Capability to lift and climb stairs.
- Ability to work with full‑face respiratory protection.
- Chemical manufacturing experience (preferred).
- Mechanical equipment experience, operating pumps, compressors, etc. (preferred).
- SAP fluency and usage (preferred).
- DOT Haz Mat license (preferred).
- Starting pay: $26.34.
