Position Summary: The Machine Maintenance Technician II will accurately diagnose, replace, repair, predict, and prevent potential equipment failures to minimize down time. This position is intended for Technicians who have between 5-10 years of maintenance repair experience on CNC Milling equipment and 5 years of experience in CNC milling or lathe experience on Fanuc or Siemens controls. They must have knowledge and experience with predictive maintenance and the ability to troubleshoot.

This is a team-oriented position that will work with all internal production and supporting departments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set reference parameters and corrections unaided Fanuc and Siemens controls. Using mechanical aptitude, follow instructions, both written and oral.
  • Accurately diagnose failure of mechanical and electrical components.
  • Identify parts for repair. Perform immediate, reactive repairs to ensure production equipment is operational. Perform spindle replacements.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and assist in continually enhancing the preventative maintenance program.
  • Complete required daily paperwork, document parts and material usage.
  • Follow all required safety practices associated with the specific job and follow safety procedures and security protocol.
  • Assist other departments when needed.
  • Instruct less senior Technicians on proper maintenance procedures.
  • Engage in and actively volunteers for Continuous Improvement projects and tasks.
  • Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
  • Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
  • Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
  • May be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.
  • May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Education/Experience &

Skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required;
    Vocational or Applied degree preferred, 3-5 years of maintenance experience on CNC milling equipment or repair or 5 years CNC milling repair experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Control experience with Fanuc, Siemens, and other PLC experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge pertaining to maintaining production CNC mills, lathes, mill-turns, broaches, automatic tool changers, pallet systems, and similar machines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Working knowledge of CMMS.
  • Possess general troubleshooting knowledge and experience including electrical and electronics, electro-mechanical assemblies, and hydraulic and pneumatic repairs.
  • Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams. Must have a strong ability to read mechanical drawings and part prints.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and flexible as work frequently shifts in direction.
  • Help in other parts of the team regularly, work with and relay information to other departments regularly.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously in order to meet the needs of the manufacturing environment.
  • Communicate effectively to supervision regarding problems and corrective action.
  • Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form.
