Job Title: Accountant
Location: Jacksonville, FL (On-site)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This role is responsible for supporting general ledger accounting, month-end close processes, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries for general ledger accounts
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and research variances
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
• Analyze financial statements for accuracy and trends
• Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and schedules
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and regulatory filings
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and system upgrades

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of professional accounting experience; insurance or financial services experience preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Net Suite)
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus
