Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Sr. Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Jacksonville, Florida. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with expertise in construction accounting and the ability to manage financial tasks effectively. The ideal candidate will have experience working with luxury residential and amenities clients, ensuring accurate financial reporting and reconciliation.

Responsibilities:

- Perform month-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring all transactions are properly documented.

- Conduct account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.

- Handle bank reconciliations to maintain updated and accurate financial records.

- Utilize Procore software to manage accounting tasks and streamline processes.

- Apply debit and credit accounting principles to manage financial transactions.

- Collaborate with teams involved in luxury residential and amenities projects to ensure proper financial oversight.

- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.

- Ensure compliance with industry standards and accounting regulations. Requirements - Proven experience in accounting, specifically within the construction industry.

- Proficiency in managing month-end close processes and general ledger activities.

- Strong knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.

- Familiarity with Procore software is highly preferred.

- Understanding of debit and credit accounting principles.

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data.

- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with project stakeholders.
