🧾 Accounting Manager – Payroll & Accounting Operations
Career Staffing Talent (CST) has been engaged by a growing entertainment organization to hire an Accounting Manager who will take ownership of payroll accounting, general ledger accuracy, and the close process across multiple entities.
This role is ideal for someone who likes structure, enjoys working in a fast-moving environment, and wants to build scalable accounting processes that support multiple operating companies.
Payroll Accounting & Compliance- Own end-to-end payroll accounting for several legal entities.
- Ensure all payroll activity is correctly recorded in the GL, including allocations and accruals.
- Coordinate multi-state payroll tax filings and maintain required registrations.
- Reconcile all payroll-related balance sheet accounts (wages, benefits, taxes, etc.).
- Enhance and monitor payroll controls, approvals, and supporting documentation.
- Lead monthly and annual close for assigned entities.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules prepared by the team.
- Manage intercompany activity and ensure proper eliminations and entries.
- Maintain a clean, well-structured chart of accounts and support GL governance.
- Analyze financial results, research variances, and provide insights to leadership.
- Supervise and mentor accounting team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Own the close calendar and drive accountability for key deliverables.
- Implement standardized processes and workflows across operating units.
- Create and maintain written procedures and documentation for recurring tasks.
- Evaluate and strengthen internal controls within payroll and accounting operations.
- Ensure documentation and reconciliations support accurate, audit-ready financials.
- Assist with external audits and ad hoc information requests.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Prior experience supervising or managing accounting staff.
- Strong background in general ledger and financial close.
- Direct experience with payroll accounting and compliance.
- Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, complex formulas).
- On-site role based in Jacksonville, FL.
- Monday–Friday, typically accounting hours per week.
- Flexible start/finish within a 7AM–6PM window.
