Project Accountant

Central Southern Construction is seeking a Project Accountant to support the financial management of our construction projects. This position will work closely with the Accounting Manager, Project Managers, Estimators, and Operations team to ensure accurate job costing, project reporting, contract administration, and financial tracking throughout the project lifecycle.

This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced construction environment and wants to grow within the industry.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintain project budgets and job cost reports.
• Review and monitor project costs for accuracy and proper coding.
• Assist with contract administration, change orders, and project documentation.
• Prepare and maintain project financial reports.
• Track commitments, subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and change orders.
• Assist with project forecasting and cost-to-complete reporting.
• Work with Project Managers to review project performance and cost variances.
• Assist with customer billings and project-related invoicing.
• Support monthly project closeout procedures and financial reconciliations.
• Maintain organized project accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with audit requests and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with estimating and operations teams during project startup and closeout.

Qualifications include:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting, project accounting, bookkeeping, or construction administration experience preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of job costing and project financial reporting preferred.
• Experience with Foundation Software or other construction accounting software is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
