Senior Staff Accountant
M2 Search Partners has an outstanding opportunity for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Staff Accountant. Our client is experiencing tremendous growth, and this role will work closely with the Controller to support day-to-day accounting operations, maintain financial accuracy, assist with month-end close activities, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
This is an in-office position at our client's Jacksonville, FL operation.
Primary Responsibilities:- Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and expense reports
- Match purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documents for accuracy
- Enter invoices and payment information into the accounting system
- Prepare and process check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
- Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries in a professional manner
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
- Maintain organized and accurate accounts payable files and records
- Support audit requests by providing required documentation
- Assist with other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity
- Lead and support month-end and year-end close processes
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
- Support internal and external audit requests and documentation
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with process improvements and implementation of accounting controls
- Collaborate cross-functionally with accounts receivable, inside sales and operations teams
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
