Senior Investments Accountant
This position will support the Controller and is ultimately responsible for ensuring financial statements are properly stated, including balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flow as well as reconciling underlying subledgers.
The position will assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports to owners, partners, and lenders.
- Execute monthly accounting processes for the Company's financial statement includes entering journal entries and creating supporting schedules
- Prepare and review all investment sections in financial statements for accuracy
- Track all projects on the books from pursuit until capitalization while utilizing construction software to tie out to actual pre-development costs
- Maintain book capital accounts for all properties and book income allocation each quarter
- Participate in all calls and meetings related to property closings and capital calls with other departments
- Work with the Controller to prepare all relevant information for monthly and quarterly distributions to investors
- Assists Asset Managers with capital contributions, ensuring that a detailed schedule is maintained
- Initiate all capital call wire transfers and book all journal entries
- Maintain and audit all Owner Ledgers in Yardi; reviews monthly for accuracy
- Work with the Controller to book all acquisitions and dispositions
- Assist with annual audits for all properties and is main point of contact with auditors
- Reconcile credit card and employee expense report monthly and bills back properties, if applicable
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of experience in institutional-level real estate accounting
- Big 4 or super regional accounting firm experience is preferred
- Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
- Experience working with JV partnership ownership structures including waterfall investor returns
- Entrepreneurial, confident, relationship-oriented, enthusiastic personality
- Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, networking and presentation skills
- Strong working skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Yardi
