Position SummaryWe are seeking a hands‑on Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations for multiple business locations within a growing, operations‑focused organization. This individual will serve as a strategic business partner to operational leadership while maintaining responsibility for financial reporting, month‑end close, budgeting, and team leadership. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment, is comfortable partnering with operations, and is eager to make an immediate impact while helping support continued organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all accounting activities for multiple operating locations.
- Lead the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and variance analysis.
- Partner with operations leadership to analyze business performance and identify opportunities to improve financial results.
- Review daily operational and financial metrics, investigating significant variances and trends.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting workflows to ensure timely processing and accurate financial records.
- Monitor capital expenditures and maintain fixed asset accounting.
- Support inventory accounting activities where applicable.
- Assist with annual audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and supporting analyses.
- Supervise and mentor a small accounting team while fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiencies.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Approximately five or more years of progressive accounting experience.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, logistics, distribution, transportation, industrial services, or another operational environment is preferred.
- Experience leading month‑end close and financial reporting.
- Exposure to inventory and fixed asset accounting is beneficial.
- Previous supervisory experience or a demonstrated desire to move into a leadership role.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across accounting and operations.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
