Project Accountant

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with job costing, progress billing, and month-end close in a project-based environment. This individual will be highly detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working cross-functionally with Project Managers and leadership to ensure accurate job profitability, timely billing, and compliance with GAAP standards in a fast-paced environment.

• Set up and maintain job cost structures, budgets, and cost codes in coordination with Project Management
• Track job costs, perform variance analysis, and support WIP reporting and cost-to-complete updates
• Lead progress billing, including preparation and submission of pay applications
• Manage accounts receivable, including collections, cash application, and customer follow-up
• Oversee lien waivers, COIs, and billing compliance documentation
• Support month-end close, reconciliations, and job cost/financial reporting

• 3+ years of accounting experience in job cost, construction, manufacturing, or similar project-based industry
• Strong experience with progress (AIA/draw) billing (required)
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting (required)
• Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP or job cost accounting systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
