Ansbacher Law is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our accounting team. The Accounting Manager will drive the firm’s accounting and finance functions, oversee day-to-day operations and department strategy. This role requires a hands‑on leader who can manage a small team while ensuring accurate financial reporting and strict compliance with legal ethical standards, including trust account management.

- Supervise and mentor the accounting staff (typically 4 employees), ensuring adequate cross‑training and professional development.
- Manage all client trust account (IOLTA) transactions and disbursements; perform monthly reconciliations to ensure zero commingling of funds.
- Lead the month‑end and year‑end close processes, prepare financial statements, bank reconciliations, and variance reports for firm leadership.
- Oversee client intake, billing, and collections; review alternative billing arrangements and manage accounts receivable.
- Coordinate with external CPA firms for annual tax returns and audits; prepare periodic sales/use tax filings and 1099 reporting.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must be available for full‑time, in‑person work, at our Jacksonville, Florida office. (Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm).
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity within a professional services organization.
- Advanced MS Excel skills and experience with legal practice management software and law firm accounting software like PCLaw.
- Deep understanding of law firm policies, GAAP, and state bar guidelines regarding client funds.
- Relentless focus on accuracy, deadlines, and high‑volume data integrity.
