Senior Accountant, Revenue Recognition

Job Description

The Senior Accountant for Revenue Recognition will help drive the ASC 606 compliance across departments that include but not limited to Sales, FP&A, A/R, Billing, Technical Accounting along with dotted line reports on your team.

• Review and analyze complex and multi-business unit client contracts for proper billing set up & ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
• Collaborate w/Clients and internal departments to research and resolve client contract and billing inquiries.
• Generate accurate reporting of audit results and impact of missed revenue to the business for clients while participating in internal and external audit activities.
• Recommend solutions to complex accounting functions.
• Review detailed quarterly and annual financial reports with analysis for submission to leadership.
• Responsible for year-end close and accounts reconciliations
• Prepare comparative analysis of department/ core budget and expenses.
• Oversee the monthly revenue accounting close for the business segment.
• Review and analyze the monthly income statement and balance sheets
• Ensure complex revenue arrangements are accurately recorded in accordance with guidance from the technical accounting team and underlying transactional activity
• Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries
• Collaborate with FP&A on monthly results and assess the impact of accounting for customer transactions on forecasts
• Work closely with internal and external auditors, as well as the SOX team
• Support other activities as needed such as acquisition integration and system implementation and upgrades

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably in a corporate accounting department of a multi-national company
• Knowledge of large ERPfinancial systems, and reporting tools and strong excel skills
• CPA or equivalent preferred but not required
• Requires strong organizational, team building, coaching and mentoring skills
• Excellent skills in communicating ideas both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise and professional manner including presentations
• Ability to design, document and implement process improvements
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP and IFRS,and their application in a large,diverse organization
