We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a retail organization in Jacksonville, Florida. This long-term contract position will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting close activities, and delivering reliable analysis that helps guide business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, works effectively with limited oversight, and collaborates well across teams to resolve reporting and accounting matters.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation and review of journal entries, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations to help ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Support month-end close by analyzing balances, investigating fluctuations, and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Compile and organize financial information from multiple data sources for reporting, reconciliations, and management analysis.
• Perform detailed ad hoc analyses related to accounting results, costing matters, and reporting requests from business partners.
• Execute and verify costing-related uploads while confirming data accuracy and alignment with financial records.
• Prepare variance-to-standard reporting and provide insight into key drivers affecting financial performance.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests by assembling schedules, documentation, and supporting analysis.
• Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to address accounting questions, improve workflows, and strengthen reporting quality.
