Accounting Manager
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure the efficient management of our accounting team. This role is integral to maintaining the financial integrity and compliance of the company.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Hire, train, supervise, and mentor accounting staff to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Handle financial reporting, including balance sheet, profit & loss statements, and month or year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and GAAP, and build internal controls to protect company assets.
- Assist in creating and monitoring company budgets, analyzing spending trends throughout the year.
- Collaborate with outside auditors during corporate audits to ensure accurate financial review.
Essential Skills
- Proven leadership skills to guide a team and manage work performance effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of financial standards and rules, with the ability to explain complex financial details to non-finance managers.
- Strong communication skills to mentor accounting staff and resolve errors or risks quickly.
- Excellent math and computer skills.
- Organizational and multitasking abilities including time management, planning, adaptability, and strategic outlook.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with cash flow projections and consolidating financials across all divisions.
- Proficiency in expense tracking and reporting.
- Familiarity with onboarding processes such as I9 and E-Verify verification.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2 to 4 years in a managerial role.
- Prior experience in logistics, warehousing, transportation, or a similar industry is preferred.
- Proven experience managing month-end and year-end close independently.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $44.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
