Accounting Manager

We’re partnering with a nonprofit organization seeking a hands‑on Accounting Manager who can step in, solve accounting issues, improve processes, and make an immediate impact.

This is NOT a role for someone who wants to manage from a distance. We’re looking for a technically strong accountant who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and working across AR, AP, reconciliations, GL, and month‑end close.

• Reconcile customer accounts from invoice → payment → outstanding balance
• Research cash application, unapplied payments & discrepancies
• Support AR and collection efforts
• Oversee and support the full AP process
• Prepare journal entries, accruals & account reconciliations
• Play a hands‑on role in month‑end close
• Identify root causes of accounting issues and improve processes
• Strengthen internal controls and accounting workflows
• Train, coach & develop an AP Specialist
• Serve as a key resource for Sage Intacct
• Explore practical ways to leverage technology & AI to improve efficiency

• Strong Accounting Manager / Senior Accountant experience
• Recent, hands‑on Sage Intacct experience — REQUIRED
• Strong AR experience, including reconciliations & cash application
• Solid AP, GL & month‑end close experience
• Advanced Excel skills — VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, IF/IFERROR, complex formulas & data analysis
• Experience troubleshooting accounting issues independently
• Leadership, training & process improvement experience
• Nonprofit accounting experience is a PLUS, but strong technical accounting skills are more important.
