Finance Assistant
Part time, 20-25 hours per week
Detail-oriented finance and administrative professional with experience in bookkeeping, data entry, Quick Books management, and reconciliation support. Skilled in maintaining accurate financial records, handling confidential information with integrity, and supporting ministry operations with efficiency and a service-oriented mindset. Committed to excellence, reliability, and upholding Christian values in all aspects of financial stewardship. This position is based out of our Kernan administrative office and is an in-person job.
Essentialduties and responsibilities
- Enter and categorize invoices, credit purchases, deposits, and financial transactions with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Support month-end and year-end processes through reconciliations, credit card audits, payroll assistance, and preparation of quarterly reports.
- Maintain financial organization by managing accounts payable/receivable workflows and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
- Efficient in database use and administrative support, including Virtuous procedures, documentation, and audit preparation.
- Provide reliable support for fundraising and ministry operations while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and alignment with organizational values.
- Experience in bookkeeping, accounting support, or financial administration
- Basic understanding of accounting principles, accounts payable/receivable, and financial recordkeeping
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books or similar) preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate and organized financial records
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive financial information with integrity and discretion
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Commitment to the mission, values, and ethical standards of the organization
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
