Position: OPS Welcome Desk Office Assistant

Welcome Desk Office Assistant

Housing & Residence Life-OPS
Compensation: $15.00 hourly

The Welcome Desk Office Assistant position is a year‑round role responsible for providing customer service to students and/or parents, answering telephones, and responding to general inquiries via the housing email inbox for multiple welcome desk locations. The position also involves accurate data entry, maintaining confidential student files, and assisting with department‑wide events such as move‑in, move‑out, and orientations. The role will operate Monday through Friday, 4pm to midnight, and may require working through holidays when the University is closed.

Functions
  • Provide customer service to students and/or parents
  • Answer telephones and respond to general inquiries in the housing email inbox for multiple welcome desk locations
  • Perform accurate data entry
  • Maintain confidential student files
  • Assist with department‑wide events such as move‑in, move‑out, and orientations
Marginal Functions
  • Work through holidays when the University is closed
  • Work in a fast‑paced environment while remaining detail oriented and well organized
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma (or GED) and at least two years of experience directly related to the job functions
  • Directly related college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Detail oriented and well organized
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
