Welcome Desk Office Assistant

Compensation: $15.00 hourly
The Welcome Desk Office Assistant position is a year‑round role responsible for providing customer service to students and/or parents, answering telephones, and responding to general inquiries via the housing email inbox for multiple welcome desk locations. The position also involves accurate data entry, maintaining confidential student files, and assisting with department‑wide events such as move‑in, move‑out, and orientations. The role will operate Monday through Friday, 4pm to midnight, and may require working through holidays when the University is closed.
JobFunctions
- Provide customer service to students and/or parents
- Answer telephones and respond to general inquiries in the housing email inbox for multiple welcome desk locations
- Perform accurate data entry
- Maintain confidential student files
- Assist with department‑wide events such as move‑in, move‑out, and orientations
- Work through holidays when the University is closed
- Work in a fast‑paced environment while remaining detail oriented and well organized
- High school diploma (or GED) and at least two years of experience directly related to the job functions
- Directly related college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Detail oriented and well organized
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
This position requires a background check. In conjunction with the University’s policy, a credit check may also be required. The holder of this position is designated as a “Responsible Employee” pursuant to TitleIX. Therefore, the incumbent must promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse by or against any student, employee, contractor, or visitor to the University’s TitleIX Administrator or any divisional TitleIX Coordinator.
