Job DescriptionSchedule: Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm
Salary: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experience
SummaryIn this role, you will help ensure Landstar tractors and trailers remain compliant and legally authorized to operate throughout the United States and Canada. You will work closely with Owner Operators or Business Capacity Owners (BCOs), related internal departments, and government agencies to manage registrations, permits, and equipment credentials while maintaining accurate records and resolving issues in a timely manner. Your strong attention to detail, organizational skills, customer service abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment will make you a success in this department.
This is a great opportunity to develop expertise in transportation compliance and fleet administration while building valuable skills in problem‑solving, regulatory processes, vendor relations, and operational support.
- Issue replacement devices, resolve service failures, manage inventory of devices, and record data of devices on master spreadsheet.
- Review equipment files to ensure information received for data entry is complete and accurate and in accordance with legal standards.
- Handle entire plate registration process, including verifying paperwork, ordering and issuing plates with correct charges, and maintaining accurate plate inventory weekly.
- Assist with annual permit renewal (high volume and time‑sensitive).
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One year of customer service experience
- One year of data entry experience
- 6 months’ experience with tax, title, licensing, or permits
- PC skills in Excel and Word (iSeries 400 preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to multitask or change tasks as needed with a strong commitment to quality
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
- Ability to balance accounts
- Dependable, reliable, and accepts accountability for work performed
- Skilled in a high level of diplomacy
