The Service Porter plays a vital role in ensuring smooth operations within the service department by assisting customers and supporting technicians. This position involves maintaining the service area’s organization, handling customer vehicles with care, and providing a welcoming environment to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

This entry‑level position serves as an excellent foundation for career progression within the automotive service industry. Service Porters have the opportunity to advance to roles such as Service Advisor, Lube Technician, or Dry Technician. With training and hands‑on experience, you will be able to deepen your technical knowledge, enhance your customer service skills, and gain a better understanding of vehicle maintenance processes.

• Keep the service lane clean and clear of vehicles and debris
• Maintain service area parking lot
• Park vehicles in assigned area (see diagram)
• Greet customers in the service lane/area if advisors are busy
• Assist the service advisors as needed
• Check that all vehicles are locked at the end of the business day
• Deliver vehicles to body shops
• Deliver vehicles to other facilities for campaigns to be performed
• Assist courtesy driver by dropping off and picking up guests
• Test drive vehicles when needed
• Assure that seat covers and floor mats are in all vehicles
• Report any damages found on any and all vehicles
• Sweep and mop service lane/parts department lobby
• Wipe down parts and service department doors, handles, counters, credit‑card machines and windows at least twice daily and as needed

• Valid Florida driver license
• Ability to read/comprehend instructions and information
• Strong communication skills
