Director of Business Development plays a crucial role within the organization, responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and enhance profitability within the educational management services industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong comprehensive knowledge of school funding systems with the drive and ability to learn school funding by state.
Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with the local, regional, and national Operations teams to secure new business.
- Identify new business opportunities, market segments, and potential growth areas within the education sector in a pre-determined geography.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and formal presentations for executive leadership and school board directors.
- Understand and interpret school funding structures, budgetary processes, and recruitment.
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies that align within the education sector.
- Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations to educational executives, board members, and stakeholders.
- Attend educational conferences and events to network and stay up to date with industry developments.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for business growth.
- Contiguous multi-state travel is required.
- Meet or exceed annual new sales quota.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, education, sales, or related field.
- Five plus years of experience in sales, as an individual contributor, with solid knowledge of education administration practices, special education/related services, and K-12 procurement practices.
- Proficient in sales methodologies, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and sales analytics.
- Proven ability in the use of standard business software, such as the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.) or the like.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and compelling manner.
- Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and develop innovative sales strategies.
