Sports Information Game Assistant - OPS

Position Overview

Department:
Athletics – Strategic Communications‑OPS

Compensation: $15.00 hourly

• Serve as the media relations contact for assigned sport(s).
• Coordinate interviews and work with external media entities including print, radio, social media, web, and TV for local, regional, and national requests.
• Tie creative, promotional, and informational content into a cohesive message benefiting teams and student‑athletes.
• Produce interviews, press releases, recaps, feature stories, social media content, video, and photo content to deliver information.
• Assist in overall social media management and strategy for assigned sport(s) using Sidearm Sports backend, Stat Crew, Genius Live Stats.
• Support broadcasts and live streams as needed.
• Act as the lead statistician for assigned sport(s), responsible for doing live stats at events and training student and part‑time staff as needed, including game‑day staff and in‑game statistical duties.
• Generate almanacs, quick facts, game notes and other published material for in‑house and external uses.
• Maintain an archive of UNF records from local media; submit athlete information for honors through NCAA, conference, CoSIDA, and governing sports bodies.
• Build and maintain photo files; provide information to other on‑campus departments for public‑relations brochures, publications, catalogs, annual reports, and more.

• Background check required; credit check may be required per University policy.
• Responsible Employee under Title IX: must promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse.
• Must understand and adhere to NCAA, Atlantic Sun Conference bylaws and guidelines, and all UNF regulations; report violations to UNF Athletic Compliance.
