About the PositionEnergy Exemplar is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead our Data and Insights Product Line, responsible for driving the product’s vision, strategy, and commercial success. The ideal candidate will bring deep domain expertise in North American power and natural gas markets, along with a strong background working with energy trading teams or market participants, with an understanding of trading workflows, risk management, and market dynamics.
This role will oversee product growth and profitability, guide research and development, and own the product roadmap while staying ahead of market trends and competitive dynamics.
- Foster a customer‑focused, collaborative culture to drive innovation and product value
- Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with market needs and business goals
- Set and track clear KPIs (adoption, revenue, retention) to measure success
- Own and prioritize the product backlog, translating customer and market needs into actionable features
- Build and communicate a data‑driven roadmap based on market trends, competition, and customer feedback
- Analyze industry dynamics across power and gas markets to inform product strategy
- Partner closely with energy trading teams and market participants to understand day‑to‑day workflows (e.g., bidding, hedging, portfolio optimization) and translate them into product features
- Embed key market drivers such as LMP pricing, congestion, fuel costs, and hedging strategies into product capabilities to support real‑time trading and risk decisions
- Enhance analytics and simulation tools (e.g., PLEXOS, ETRM integrations) to improve forecasting accuracy, dispatch optimization, and portfolio risk management for trading teams
- Collaborate with sales and marketing on go‑to‑market strategy and positioning
- Work with customer success to drive adoption, satisfaction, and expansion
- Monitor product performance, usage metrics (onboarding, time‑to‑value, NPS), and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement
- Support revenue growth by aligning product strategy with commercial opportunities
- 6–8+ years of experience in the energy or utilities industry, with a strong understanding of market dynamics and industry trends
