SummaryRen Energy is seeking an individual with seven or more years of experience leading engagement with manufacturing groups in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. This individual will be responsible for building relationships with the manufacturing partners of Ren Energy’s customers, helping move those partners toward renewable energy procurement. Initial responsibilities include regular calls and outreach to priority factories and supplier partners, organizing and leading supplier workshops, and occasionally visiting suppliers and factories.
The role will also involve generating written materials in English and native languages, and may evolve to oversee and manage a team of supplier engagement specialists across key APAC countries.
- Engage directly with manufacturers across the APAC region via phone, email, and in‑person meetings.
- Create and execute strategies for moving key suppliers and factories toward renewable energy procurement.
- Organize and lead in‑person and virtual workshops for suppliers.
- Collaborate with the Ren Energy team on supplier engagement best practices.
- Regularly report on progress and challenges to the Ren team and customers.
- Generate educational materials supporting renewable energy procurement.
- Grow and manage a team of supplier engagement experts across APAC (in time).
- At least seven (7) years of experience building relationships with manufacturers and suppliers in the APAC region.
- Located in China, Hong Kong, or Taiwan.
- Proven experience generating and executing supplier engagement strategies.
- Ability to produce presentation‑ready educational materials and present verbally in both English and Mandarin.
- Comfort communicating with individuals at all levels of an organization.
- Baseline knowledge of the energy industry and renewable energy procurement methods, ideally in China.
- A reliable computer and stable internet access.
- Willingness to regularly connect with the Ren Energy team in Portland, Oregon, USA (Pacific Time Zone) and with Ren Energy’s customers.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, supply chain, international law, or related field.
- History of organizing and leading workshops for suppliers and manufacturers in APAC countries.
- Experience working with suppliers in the apparel/footwear or semiconductor industries.
- Previous experience building and leading remote teams across APAC.
- Prior experience engaging with government officials, local law firms, and energy experts in APAC.
- Active network across APAC with experience engaging suppliers or transacting on renewable energy.
- Experience with in a corporate sustainability team.
- Ability to speak, read and write in languages beyond English and Mandarin.
